UNDERTOW

Undertow, an unsettling psychological drama, is the debut feature film written and directed by Miranda Nation. Laura Gordon plays Claire, a photo-journalist coping with the loss of her unborn child. The film chronicles her increasing obsession with a young pregnant girl, Angie, played by Olivia DeJong, whom she suspects of having an affair with her husband.

Shot entirely in Geelong and surrounds, the aim was to create two different worlds reflecting both Claire & Angie. Highlighted in contrast between the earthy, reckless Motel location and the cool reflective world of Claire’s seaside home. Water and death being key elements in the design of the film.
